It has been an amazingly long day with a 5am start and 6 hour return trek to Fuji Speedway, but a trek well worth it.
I’ve just gotten back from Shizuoka where Fuji lies and it’s already well past midnight. So as you can imagine it’s been a slightly busy day. The weather held up perfectly, punctuated by just a few clouds here are there, so it was great news for all the spectators, organizers and yours truly, the shooters.
As it’s been such a long day, I’m just going to post up one or two quick pictures now. I still have an arsenal of over 1,200 more images to go through and sort so expect a bigger better write up later tomorrow. For now though, I bet you know which these 4 cars are right?
Well how about this one?
Lookin’ good eh? More on it and others tomorrow, so hang in there and have a good night!

What should be was a great day
Bet it was awesome.
Can you upload some higher res pics of the Mt Fuji backdrop? That would make an awesome desktop background.
I agree with LonePhantom! That photo is fantastic!
Cool, I guess that a replacement for the S15 Silvia is on a deadline.
stingray, where did you get that info on the s15 replacement ?
I’m pretty sure it was tongue in cheek and well timed too – Nissan needs to pull the plug out and clean out the stuff from the attic; this stuff in particular being the design and conceptual drawings for the car they thought too lame to bring back into an emerging market.
Toyota have pulled the rug out from under them in response.
Name one light cheap RWD sports car Nissan have? There isn’t one is there? You cant say the Z because it is a mid level, semi luxury sports. What I am referring to is something to take the fight to Toyota’s inevitable FT86.
For Nissan to not do anything after having the initiative and head-start would be Sparta mad. Should the ridiculous happen, they would be giving away a significant amount of re-emerging market share for free and we all know that is not going to happen if they can help it.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say a Nissan Silvia will return in late 2010 early 2011.
The climate and timing is perfect for it.

Err, you can read about it here, or search on many more car websites for rumors and reports.
Yeah Adam, the climate and timing may be perfect, but I’m not sure if Nissan has the same idea, I mean no concepts to announce the production model, no spy shoots of prototypes being tested, no teasers, anything. The last sporty concept I can remember is the Nissan Azeal back in 2005, but other then that nothing.
Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure they want a slice of this pie.
What we don’t know is how far in to their development with this they went.
Wouldn’t it be great to see something next year at the TMS or the Nismo festival?
A Silvia in 2010/11? Where’s the test mule then? Like Stingray says theres been no evidence whatsoever to suggest a Nissan light sports car to rival the FT-86 coming. If it was coming I’m pretty sure we would’ve heard about it by now.
Certainly don’t quote me on it but all logic points to the project getting dusted off. I for one would not be surprised in the slightest.
