Subaru continues to disappoint its loyal overseas markets though by offering the 2.5 liter AVCS equipped, twincam turbo boxer for the JDM market only and in a scant production run of a mere 300 units…
With production scheduled to run from now until the end of march 2011 and only available in automatic, the SH9 model Foresters 2.5 turbo is reported to develop 193kW ( 263ps ) @ 6000 coupled with a twist factor of 347 N.m ( 35.4 kg.m ) @ 2800 – 4800rpm. It needs the torque because the new Foz tips the scales at 1810kg’s, so it isn’t the lightest SUV in the world.
The Forester tS appears to have inherited many of the parts that made up the Legacy tS that preceded it, namely the front and rear STi tuned dampers and springs plus the body bracing consisting of flexible draw bracing, flexible tower bar and flexible front and rear stiffeners.
Inside, the car has similarly benefited from a host of tS STi parts, including bolstered STi badged seats with red stitching…
…drilled aluminum pedals, STi red stitch leather wheel with paddle shifters and a bright red starter button to help you get moving.
The car will come in 4 colors; Obsidian Black, Pearl White, and Stylish Silver with WR Blue Mica sure to be the most popular of them.
Priced at 3.6 million yen ( $46,000 USD ), it is anticipated these cars will sell quickly but I am sure the bigger question for those of you reading this is, “What about us?!”
Indeed, Subaru. What about the rest of the world?
