People should just quit their bitching about these cars already. Less than a year into production and all I hear is nonsense from people who know absolutely nothing about them. These people’s opinions are like ex’s; we’ve all had one and yet, most of what comes with the fallout is baseless trash talking. And the 86 and BRZ quite simply don’t deserve it… Read more

The signature yellow, Rocket Bunny wearing, drift machine from Bee Racing in Tokyo, has caused a stir and created a lot of discussion since its conception late last year. Arguments have sprung up on all corners of the net debating what it actually is and Kiyonori Imai from Bee-R just sat back and laughed at all the attention it is receiving. You see, it’s not a Scion FR-S despite wearing Scion badges and anyone with half a brain will also figure out that the Scion FR-S is a LHD model since it was a North American designated model… Read more

If you don’t like 86′s and BRZ’s, the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon is definitely not the place for you. Not only is this the biggest salon in years, but it is absolutely LOADED with Toyotas and Subarus. I must have counted one 86 or BRZ for every five or six other cars. There are easily over 100 of Japan’s latest builds on the twin platforms that are sweeping the world and making people gnash their teeth at the sometimes 18 month waiting list to order the cars… Read more

Having left the paddock, it was time to get serious and train the Nikon D3 and 70-200mm on the cars and drivers as they battled it out on the track. There was an absolutely packed schedule of action going on throughout the day, right from the opening sessions at 8am and culminating in easily the biggest parade of 86′s that I’ve ever seen at 5pm. Which left me with a lot of work to do… and a lot of shots to post… Read more

I returned to Japan from an epic trip to Europe on the 15th of September knowing full well that Sunday the 16th was going to bring with it the mother of all Skyline GT-R days. The weather turned out to be excellent too and Fuji Speedway was packed to the brim with hundreds upon hundreds of Skyline GT-R’s, in all shapes and sizes. Not only that but on the same day, the Drift Muscle championship was being held down at the Short Course and the super popular 1JZ day was on at the Drift track! Having settled back in Tokyo this week, I’ve been able to reflect on what was a magic weekend for all involved. The WTAC really came of age this year with a huge crowd turnout, tons of unpredictable on track action and an equal amount of fizz taking place in the support paddock and support events. 7Tune was at the event this year with a team of 7 people, covering both videography and photography plus we hosted the pre-party for the event at Zen Garage on the Thursday night. To say that it was a weekend of epic proportions would be a big understatement… Read more

I’m going to show you around an extremely special little EF9 that is packed with modifications and built to such a high standard but at first glance you may just pass over it without a second look at it because it appears…normal. And yet, there is so much under the surface here, that it’d be foolish to overlook it! Trust me, this EF is properly hardcore. I had some quiet time with the car to see what really made it tick and then a rundown on what went into the build with the owner… Read more

It happens more often than not that I end up in the right place at the right time. Only a few days back, I randomly bumped into Amemiya san at the same spot where we were waiting to meet people. It was an incredible coincidence but a timely one that led to this article. You see, Amemiya san told me that, after all the issues and false starts to their WTAC time attack campaign, they were finally ready to shake down the world famous Hurricane FD at Fuji Speedway. There was no way I was going to miss the opportunity to witness that… Read more
