VIDEO – BRZ RUNS 0-100 IN 6.2 SECONDS

On a recent test with the Subaru BRZ, I decided to verify the manufacturers claims on its run to 100kph. The results were a surprise. Many claimed that the car could only manage the sprint to 100kph in a tick over 7 seconds but I managed to get the car to launch and reach the marker point in a timed 6.2 seconds. I think the manufacturers are downplaying the performance of the car for some reason, perhaps in an attempt to drive hype but it’s a counter intuitive approach… Read more

Finally the day arrived where I was able to put the new Toyota 86 through its paces in real life situations and I came away from the test really impressed with the car. I wasn’t blown away, nor was I expecting to be since the base model is where you start with the package but for what it is, and the price it drops in at in Japan, it makes for a compelling and delicious argument… but now I have a major problem on my hands… Read more

Mirrors on the Ceiling, Pink Champagne on Ice… No, this is not the Eagles’ Hotel California, this is the entrance to a very exclusive, invite only ‘Toyota 86 Gala.’. When Adam first called me saying we had been invited to a very special event by Toyota, my ears perked up immediately. Following several Press Conferences, Demonstrations and Motor show Events, the new ‘Toyota 86’ is just about complete and ready to purchase. What better way to put it all together than to have another final and official 86 Launch Party. Having already seen the car back last summer at Fuji, and then again at the Tokyo Auto Salon, I just can’t get enough, so had to attend! Read more
