Toyota Technocraft (TRD) have added the Corolla Fielder to its line up of complete cars alongside the Corolla Axio GT and the Vitz TRD Turbo M.
Ignoring the wagon body, the Corolla Fielder GT is essentially the same as the Corolla Axio GT outside and underneath with the same 1NZ-FE 1.5L engine and IHI turbocharger, intercooler and ECU to produce 150PS @ 6,000rpm and 20.0kg/m @ 4,800rpm (40PS and 5.7kg/m over standard). A stronger clutch cover is also added to cope with the higher output and the suspension benefits from a full TRD Sportivo kit which includes lowered springs with matched shock absorbers and front and rear stabilizers. TRD TF4 16 inch alloy wheels with 195/55 R16 tires finish off the performance enhancements for the Corolla Fielder GT’s standard equipment. Optional parts include larger 17 inch TF4 or TF1 alloys with Michelin Pilot Preceda tires, a Bilstein suspension kit and TRD sports brake pads and shoes.
The Corolla Fielder GT also gets a smiliar front lip spoiler, side skirts and rear bumper spoiler as the Corolla Axio GT, as well as GT badges, a 3-spoke sports steering wheel and a TRD logo leather shift knob. Other optional parts include 18mm wide fender protectors, RECARO SR-7 seats (black only) and TRD GT body stripes. As a dealer option its also possible to order a dashboard panel set, TRD Sportivo door scuff plates and a TRD sports air cleaner.
The Toyota Corolla Fielder GT complete car will go on sale April 5th for 2,670,000 JPY (US$30,140).

The engine could be bigger and more powerful but still, this is one hot wagon. Toyota is capable to produce such awesome cars and they lose time and money with creating the “Prius brand”, and they are offering the Corolla only in a sedan form in Europe, they even dropped the Corolla from some European markets. I don’t know what’s in Akio’s mind right now but some radical changes need to be done.
Is this also available as a stand alone turbo kit?
Realy nice, turbo and 6MT never a bad thing.
ParkerBros, everything bar the turbo kit is available separately for the Fielder GT. However the old bB/Ist/Vitz all used the 1NZ-FE and TRD offer a “Turbo tune up plan” where they install the kit for a price of 627,900 JPY but I’m not sure if the kit for those cars is exactly the same as the Axio/Fielder kit… they’ll be very similar though.
That’s a pretty cool ride it looks much better than the junk AE112 Corolla Sportivo turbo we got in Australia.
one sexy wagon I must say =)
Yes its a nice wagon but they ‘toyota’ seems to be going backwards after having the old Fielder Z touring having the 2ZZ 180+hp from the celica and even the older BZ touring with the 4A-GE 20 valve with 160hp hmmmm
sport brake pads and shoes? …shoes?? Ok, I understand that its still only making 150PS, but they could have at least also given us a 4-wheel disc
Sadly, this will never make it over to the States. 1NZ-FE? I think that might get phased out once the Yaris gets redone. Toyota would’ve captured a market if they brought over a Turbo Yaris.
